MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre is Tampa’s major outdoor concert venue, bringing large touring acts to the Florida State Fairgrounds throughout the concert season. The amphitheatre combines reserved seating closer to the stage with a large general-admission lawn, offering two distinct ways to experience a show.
Because the venue is outdoors, your seat choice, the weather, and your arrival plan matter more here than at Tampa’s indoor arenas. A little preparation can make a significant difference, particularly during Tampa’s hot and rainy summer concert season.

MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre Seating
The amphitheatre offers reserved seating closer to the stage along with a large general-admission lawn behind the seated sections. Reserved tickets provide an assigned location and generally closer views, while lawn tickets offer more room to spread out and are often a less expensive way to attend a show. If you’re choosing the lawn, arriving earlier can give you more choice over where to settle before the crowd fills in.
Weather & Outdoor Concerts
Florida weather can have a major effect on concerts here, especially during the warmer months. Prepare for heat and humidity before sunset as well as the possibility of rain during an evening show. Check the forecast before leaving, dress for the conditions, and remember that umbrellas are not permitted inside the venue.
Entry Policies
MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre uses security screening and a clear-bag policy. Small clear bags and limited small non-clear clutches are permitted, while restrictions can change for individual artists. Review the current event information before arriving for the latest bag and entry requirements.
Outside lawn chairs, umbrellas, coolers, professional cameras, and several other items are prohibited. Guests may generally bring a permitted refillable plastic bottle or factory-sealed water bottle, although event-specific requirements can vary.
Parking & Getting There
The amphitheatre is located at the Florida State Fairgrounds near I-4 and US-301. Most concertgoers drive, and parking is available in the Fairgrounds lots surrounding the venue.
Parking is sold separately from concert tickets, with passes available in advance or on the event day. For larger shows, allow extra time for traffic entering and leaving the Fairgrounds, particularly around I-4, US-301, and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Accessibility
Accessible seating and parking are available for amphitheatre events. Accessible parking requires a valid state-issued plate or placard and is subject to availability, so guests who need to park close to the venue should consider arriving early.
About MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre
The outdoor venue opened in 2004 at the Florida State Fairgrounds and was originally known as Ford Amphitheatre. After several naming changes, MIDFLORIDA Credit Union acquired the naming rights in 2013. The amphitheatre has since become a regular Tampa stop for major rock, country, pop, hip-hop, and other touring acts.
