Buccaneers History

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers joined the NFL as an expansion franchise in 1976. Just three seasons later, the Buccaneers reached the playoffs and advanced to the NFC Championship Game during the 1979 season.

The Buccaneers won their first championship in Super Bowl XXXVII following the 2002 season. Nearly two decades later, Tampa Bay returned to the Super Bowl following the 2020 season and defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV at Raymond James Stadium, becoming the first NFL team to win a Super Bowl in its home stadium.
